A few words from the Intern...

Welcome. My creative cleverness has escaped me at the moment, so I’m beginning the very first entry of my blog with the very same word Sara Brady began hers – welcome. You’ve stumbled upon the ramblings of Sara Brady Public Relations’ first intern. How exciting! As a public relations junior at the University of Florida (in the strongest possible terms, Go Gators!), I can hardly compete with Sara’s carefully and articulately written “Coffee Break.” In fact, I don’t even drink coffee! So for now I’ll just call this part of Coffee Break that Sara has been so gracious to lend to me, "Social Solitude."

Where on earth did I dig up such an obscure name? Well, I’ve always been a fan of oxymorons so hey, why not use one now? The vast field of public relations requires a great big toolkit of social strategy, and this first official blog entry is taking countless hours of quiet solitude to complete. Come to think of it, I wouldn’t name this private “corner” of Coffee Break anything else. It’s a stretch, trust me I know.

Needless to say, I’m without a doubt excited to start interning at this great firm. I’ve only been here for about a week and a half, I can already tell it’s going to be a great summer.

But before I leave and get back to work, I’ll leave you with a witty quote to chew over. After all, what’s a blog without a little amusement?

“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.”

- Lao Tzu

Well, there you have it. I’ve taken my first step here at Sara Brady Public Relations. My first blog entry. I truly hope it hasn’t been too painful.

Yours truly,

Anthony-Ray
